🪨 Why Attach Java Fern to Rock?

  • Prevents rhizome rot (which occurs if buried in substrate)

  • Adds a natural look to aquascapes

  • Easy to move or reposition

  • Provides surface for shrimp grazing and fish shelter

🔧 How to Attach Java Fern to Rock

  1. Choose a Rock:

    • Use porous stones (lava rock, dragon stone, etc.) for better grip

    • Avoid sharp rocks that can cut roots

  2. Prepare the Plant:

    • Rinse the fern gently

    • Trim any yellow or damaged leaves

    • Don’t cover or damage the rhizome

  3. Attach with:

    • Cotton thread or fishing line (tie loosely around rhizome)

    • Super glue gel (dab a tiny amount on rhizome base and press onto rock)

  4. Placement:

    • Midground or background (depending on variety)

    • Ensure moderate water flow and shade from harsh lighting

  5. Wait for Roots to Anchor:

    • Roots will naturally grip the rock in 2–3 weeks

    • Remove thread later if desired (optional)
