  • Propagation: Cuttings — trim the top and replant

  • Growth Form: Often grows horizontally when well-trimmed, forming a red foreground/midground bush

🌟 Aquascaping Uses

  • Foreground or midground plant

  • Great for Dutch-style aquascapes

  • Pairs well with green or lighter-colored plants for contrast

  • Works beautifully as a bushy red accent in the front

🧠 Care Tips

  • Needs strong light and CO₂ for best red coloration

  • Regular trimming encourages side shoots and bushier shape

  • Beneficial to dose micronutrients, especially iron to enhance red hues

  • Slow to adapt after planting or moving — give time

⚠️ Common Issues

  • Without enough light/CO₂, growth becomes leggy and green

  • May melt if suddenly transitioned to submerged from emersed form

  • Sensitive to major fluctuations in water parameters

🐠 Compatibility

  • Safe with all peaceful fish and shrimp

  • Avoid housing with plant-eating fish like goldfish or large cichlids
