- Basic variant contains less nitrogen and phosphorus with moderately higher amount of other nutrients.
- Low N/P content reduces chances of algae outbreak. It doesn't let nutrients to get accumulated in water. So less water changes are needed.
- In newly setup aquaria Basic is the optimum choice until any plant growth retardation and deficiency is noticed.
- Basic variants limit Nitrogen supply and thus promote more colouration in red plants. For high tech tanks, this process can be useful for a certain period of time.
- Depending on the plant load the dosing will vary from 5ml twice a week (low load of plants and slow growing plants) to 5ml/100L daily for planted tanks with minimum to moderate amount of plants. In moss only aquaria lower dose of the Basic nutrients will be sufficient.
