Yellow Rili Shrimp (Neocaridina davidi) are hardy freshwater dwarf shrimp prized for their bright yellow bodies punctuated by clear or semi-transparent midsections. They are peaceful, prolific breeders, making them a fantastic and easy-to-care-for addition to both nano and planted freshwater tanks.
Water Parameters & Tank Setup
To keep these shrimp thriving, you should maintain specific water conditions:
- Temperature: 18–28°C (64–84°F)
- pH Level: 6.5 to 7.8
- General Hardness (GH): 6–12
- Carbonate Hardness (KH): 2–8
- Minimum Tank Size: 5+ gallons
- They do best in heavily planted tanks with plenty of mosses and natural covers like driftwood and leaves, which promote the growth of biofilm for them to graze on.

DietYellow Rili Shrimp are omnivores that primarily feed on biofilm, algae, and decaying plant matter. You can supplement their diet with specialized shrimp pellets, snowflake food, or blanched vegetables.
