Eleocharis Accicularis, commonly known as Hair Grass, Japanese Hair Grass, and a variety of other names. This is a well-known aquarium plant that has been around for a long time!
Eleocharis acicularis’mini’, grows even slower than Eleocharis parvula, was given to Tropica by Thomas Barr of the United States.
Typically used as a foreground aquarium plant, Eleocharis Accicularis is similar to its popular counterpart, Eleocharis Parvula, but produces a slight curve giving off the appearance of the compact, low growth that is highly coveted when using any type of aquarium hair grass in a planted aquarium tank.
A dense carpet will be obtained in a short period. It requires light to work at its best, but it is one of the safest species for creating a carpet — and requires little upkeep because the leaves stay small (3-5 cm). While CO₂ injection is not essential, it will greatly boost Eleocharis Accicularis growth rate and thickness, resulting in a lush carpet much faster!
For best conditions, choose a high-quality aquarium LED lighting unit and nutrient-dense aquarium soil in addition to CO₂ injection. To plant, just split this aquarium plant into small sections and place each portion an inch or so apart halfway into the aquarium substrate. Eleocharis Accicularis will need to be trimmed regularly once it has established itself since it grows swiftly once it sends out runners. Eleocharis Accicularis is less invasive than other species of Hair Grass and is, therefore, easier to contain if a specific location needs this aquatic plant!
