Glo Tetra – Purple: Tetras have several bones linking the inner ear to the swim bladder, which gives them a great hearing. They also have a small, rounded fin between the dorsal and tail fins.
Genetically altered Galactic Purple Tetras are fluorescent purple. Typically, these fish measure 2.4 inches. The water’s pH level and temperature range should be between 6.0 and 7.0 for these fish to be kept in captivity.
Given that these fish are jumpers, the tank should include dense vegetation, open places for swimming, a cover, floating plants to assist filter the light, and a gravel or sand substrate.
Smaller fish may get their fins bit by the tetra, however, the fin-nipping tendency of the tetra can be remedied by keeping it in a group of at least six. These fish can be housed in a communal tank with larger fish. For a small party, a minimum recommended tank size of 15 gallons and 20 inches long is advised.
